Amaris Gorontalo

For an affordable, simple stay in Gorontalo with good food, Amaris Hotel Gorontalo is a solid option. The room was clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was the best part, with a surprisingly tasty range of choices. The tuna was good, though a little tough. I also felt reassured during the 6.4 magnitude earthquake: the building had no visible damage, and the emergency stairs were conveniently close to my room. It's a 3-star hotel, so I wasn't expecting luxury, but it met my needs for comfort.

Breakfast was fine, though another protein option would be nice. They can also make indomie, which I'd never seen at a hotel before. The room had a pleasant morning mountain and city view from the third floor, and enough sunlight coming in. For a budget hotel, it felt properly spacious, unlike places that squeeze the room and window area. There was no complimentary tea or coffee sachet. The bathroom has room, but the faucet was stained and didn't look well maintained, and there's no curtain separating the toilet from the shower.

Breakfast came in boxes to the room while I was there: fried rice, a main dish such as chicken or fish, egg, vegetables, fresh fruit, and a drink. The room was comfortable and straightforward, with a comfy bed, clean bathroom, full amenities, free bottled water, slippers, and a safety box. Mine had a window looking out over the area and mountains. I was only there about three days and didn't spend much time at the hotel, but it was a good stay. It's a business hotel without a pool, close to the mall, cafes, souvenir shops, and a mini market. You can take a bentor around the area, and there's a fairly spacious guest parking lot. The facilities are good and the location is strategic.

The food was great and the room was nice, but it took an hour to get my room after check-in. There weren't any notable places within walking distance either. A pretty meh stay.
