Joglo Ageng Guci Tegal

I left feeling completely refreshed, and I can’t wait to return. Joglo Ageng made the stay feel like a full package, with every detail handled with care. The setting and facilities were beautiful and peaceful, the food was delicious, and the staff made me feel very welcome. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The team at Joglo Ageng took great care of my family. Thanks to Mas Rif(z)ky from housekeeping, Mas Faesal at reception, and Mas Rezha from security, who helped us during our waterfall visit. We had such a good stay and will definitely come back. We stayed for two nights, arriving Sunday, Sept 28, 2025 and checking out Sept 30, 2025. Our family of five had Villa Soka, a private two-bedroom villa with a hot water pool that you can book. There are five other units like it at Joglo Ageng. The main room and smaller bedroom were clean, and I enjoyed swimming while hearing the waterfall just behind the villa. The hotel is in the tourist area of Guci, Tegal, but it still felt quiet, with fresh air and a chance to connect with nature. I loved the location. The only thing that bothered me was that the hot water in the main bedroom took a while to reach the temperature I wanted, which meant wasting more water. Breakfast included local dishes that I really liked. The main menu was similar to what you’d find at any five-star hotel.

We rented a two-bedroom villa for three nights in the third week of Dec 2025. Check-in went smoothly, but as soon as we entered, the pool’s very dirty condition stood out. The cleaner said he hadn’t had time to clean it before we arrived, even though our permitted check-in time was 2.45pm. He tried with a net, but it took a second complaint before they brought pumps and other equipment to drain and refill the pool. There had been a dead frog and a cockroach in it before the proper cleaning. The villa itself was quite nice and could use a little freshening up here and there. Air conditioning wasn’t really needed, with daytime temperatures around 23-25C and nights around 19C. One other annoyance was being charged separately for morning coffee at the buffet breakfast, which I thought should have been included in the breakfast price. The coffee for three days was cheap, so the cost wasn’t the main issue. No one mentioned the extra charge during breakfast, and being billed at checkout was irritating. This was the first time I’d ever been charged separately for coffee at a five-star hotel buffet breakfast. If you’re planning to bring kids, call ahead and ask whether the activities advertised on the website are actually available. When we asked, staff said they were only offered on weekends.

A peaceful spot that suited a short getaway to relax. It’s quite far from Tegal city, and finding online transportation there was difficult. The breakfast options were also limited for a hotel in this price range. Thanks to the Room division team for their hospitality.
