Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta

We booked a culinary stay package with breakfast and dinner at Bel Etage. There was a wide choice, including Indonesian, Indian, Western, sushi, desserts, and pastries. Friday dinner is seafood night, with lots of fresh seafood and a choice of cooking styles and sauces. I especially liked the garlic butter and Singaporean chilli. The service was good throughout. At breakfast, my daughters were cold in the air conditioning while running around. A woman at the reception table overheard and brought them a scarf to wrap around themselves. I didn't catch her name, but it was a lovely gesture. At dinner, my girls came back with a box of mini cookies and cakes, which a Bel Etage server had given them. Thanks! The pool sits off to one side and gets plenty of shade, so a midday swim is manageable without strong sun. There's ample parking, too, though some drivers smoke behind their cars in the basement. The smell is unpleasant despite the no-smoking signs. Staff may need to patrol those corners, whether people smoke there because there's no smoking room or simply ignore the rules. The St Regis also runs a kids club on weekends, but children and guardians need socks to join in. If you forget them, there's usually a small playroom open on weekends and holidays, though space and toys are limited. The location works well: it's in central Jakarta and easy to reach, close to the CBD, malls, and government offices, though not right on the main street. My experience of the cleanliness was good, and the amenities were good quality. The fittings and grounds feel suitably classy for the brand and price. Hallways and rooms are fairly bright but easy on the eyes, while the darker main lobby feels more elegant. There are plenty of artworks around the property.

We had breakfast, dinner at the French restaurant after the 6 p.m. champagne service, room service, and food by the pool. Every one of those experiences was better than I expected. The food and facilities were wonderful, as you'd expect from the St. Regis brand. What really set the stay apart was the staff. From arrival until we left, every person I interacted with treated us with respect and care, as though family had come to visit and they wanted everything to be just right. I've had great service before, but this felt different because everyone seemed to want us to enjoy ourselves, not because of a tip. I could say so much about them. I travel all over the world for work and fun, usually spending 100-150 days a year in hotels. Over decades I've stayed with all kinds of brands, from the most luxurious to boutique hotels and Airbnbs, but I've never experienced service of this quality. I love this place. This was originally an email to the manager, but it works as a review too. Thanks to the whole staff for a wonderful stay.

The location is a little removed from the main shopping malls, but it didn't bother us. Taxis came quickly and we didn't run into much traffic. I already want to go back, and I'm grateful to the kind staff. My mom was so happy, and we made wonderful memories there. The sauna was another surprise: the hot bath and two dry saunas were amazing. The bedding was really comfortable, and we had a balcony where we could dry our swimsuits. My mom also loved her massage at the hotel spa. Butler service was lovely too. Yogi messaged me on WhatsApp to check that we had everything we needed. I picked The St. Regis for the pool and breakfast. The breakfast was the best I've had at any hotel, with delicious food, a very clean setup, and attentive staff who kept checking whether we needed anything. The pool isn't huge, but I wanted a cozy, nature-in-the-city feel, and it was even prettier in person. My mom and I booked at the last minute on impulse. We had no idea what to do in Jakarta and just wanted to unwind at a nice hotel, after hearing good things about The St. Regis Jakarta. It completely blew me away. I've traveled to almost 30 countries and stayed at many hotels and resorts, including in the Maldives and Bangkok more than 10 times. Of all the five-star hotels I've tried, this had the best service. Every staff member was so sweet, and the facilities were flawless.

The interiors have that quiet luxury feel, and the facilities are top notch, especially the gym equipment and pool. The butler and all the staff were so attentive. We enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary here and will surely be back for another staycation at St. Regis soon ☺️
