Golden Sky Condotel

For a budget one-night stay, it works. We booked the Deluxe Double Room, a suite with two bedrooms, and it felt like an apartment, though it was a little dusty and dirty. At night, there were so many mosquitoes by the pool that I got a couple of bites on my face, so I wouldn't recommend going there then. We arrived at 6:24 PM and could smell a strong, foul odor from nearby trash before we even reached the lobby.

The pool was nice, and the staff were friendly, though none of them spoke English. The hotel itself is a little run down, but it's in a good spot between the airport and the city center. There's no restaurant, breakfast, or bar, and the WiFi didn't work. The room windows are covered, so there's no outside view. There are lots of restaurants nearby, but also a huge amount of garbage on the street. Checking out after 12 costs an extra 25%, though you can check out and leave your luggage in safe storage.

It's a nice place, though a little old. Being close to the airport toll road makes it a good fit for travelers spending just a day or two in Jakarta for business or shopping.

The price is reasonable for a two double-room condotel, about 400k, especially compared with a nearby four-star hotel twin room. There's no breakfast, so don't expect much. Pluit market is close by, and it's an option for a group of four staying in the Pluit area. If you need a non-smoking room, request it before you arrive. The lobby is just okay, and the surroundings don't feel very suitable for families with children. They provide a fridge and four medium-sized bottles of water for the two-room unit, but I wouldn't count on getting more after those are finished the way you might at a hotel.
