The hotel's in a handy spot in central Jakarta, with Taman Ismail Marzuki and Goethe Institut nearby and a nice neighborhood around it. It's an older place but comfortable. Breakfast was just nasi goreng, which was fine by me. There aren't many staff, and the service isn't like at other commercial hotels, but they're friendly and helpful.

It's fairly cheap and away from the crowds, but I couldn't get any cell signal anywhere in the place. I tried different corners with no luck. My boss called nearly every hour, and I couldn't be reached.

This was the poorest, most run-down hotel I've stayed in during 30 years of travel. The room was dirty and smelled moldy, the bathroom was dirty and had no hot water, and the sheets were stained. The facilities were bad: no toilet paper or water, and the fridge didn't work at all. When I asked to unlock the safe, I was told it didn't work. I also asked for another room key because we had different schedules, but they didn't have one. The manager wouldn't get out of his chair for anyone, let alone try to provide service. Breakfast was poor too, just a fried egg and half-cooked boiled rice. Out of five, I'd give it a one.

We only stayed because we arrived late at night. It was dirty and smelled awful, a health hazard that should be closed immediately. The place looks nothing like the photos, so don't trust them.
