Grand Thamrin Hotel

It’s a simple room with no breakfast or extras, but the location works well. Grand Indonesia is an eight-minute walk, Thamrin City is about twelve minutes away, and Ayam Bakar is only two or three shops down.

We arrived at 3:40 pm to check in to two rooms, even though check-in starts at 2 pm, and one room still wasn’t ready. Our booking asked for high floors and rooms on the same floor, but neither request was met. We were told our room type only has one room per floor, which didn’t make sense. The staff member said we could be on the same floor only if we downgraded one room. He wasn’t accommodating or helpful in finding a solution, and his attitude made an already disappointing situation worse. It was an unpleasant experience.

I booked this place for shopping and stayed three days and two nights. The room was clean, though basic and fairly small. It’s easy to walk to Thamrin City, Plaza Indonesia, Bundaran HI, and Grand Indonesia. After checkout, the staff kept my luggage while I walked around, then helped call a taxi to the airport. Everything else was fine.

I chose this hotel to be near work. The room was comfortable and clean, but showering flooded the toilet area because water ran out of the cubicle through two open drains in the floor partition. The bathroom design was inconvenient.
