Homey and Compact 2BR Apartment Marina Ancol By Travelio

I stayed for two nights and liked having a private kitchen in the Superior Room, so I could cook when I needed to. Aston Marina Ancol Hotel was quite nice, and they restocked the toiletries daily. The one issue was that the elevator wasn't working on my last stay, so we had to use the service elevator.

The right-side lift felt a little scary. From the 5th floor up to the teens it didn't move smoothly, almost like it might fall, so they should do something about it. I had booked a superior non-smoking room, but it wasn't available. They gave me a free upgrade to a deluxe room instead. Thank you!

The breakfast was awful. Some items, like the salad, were watery and not fresh, and the coconut milk was completely rotten. The room facilities were disappointing too: the gas stove didn't work at all, rainwater got inside during a heavy downpour on the first morning, and the lift kept getting stuck on certain floors. We had booked several rooms weeks ahead for a family gathering, yet even though we arrived on time at 2 PM, we waited four hours for the keys. We had to really press the receptionist to get them. This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I'd suggest staying somewhere else if you have another option.

The food was great, and so far my experience hasn't been bad. It's a hotel with good facilities, though the building looks quite old to me. I arrived at midnight and had a hard time finding the hotel entrance. You have to go around the hotel and apartment to get to the hotel lobby, and there are no entrance signs. The taxi driver and I somehow got lost, hahaha.
