The bed was clean and comfortable, though the queen bed came with two pillows and two little bolsters instead of the usual four pillows. The staff were friendly and helpful, and at about USD32 a night, the basic room was good value for its location. There isn't a fridge, even though there's an empty small cupboard that looks like it was meant to hold a mini one. No wardrobe either, just an open spot to hang clothes and a drawer for folded things. You don't get complimentary bottled water, only a small jug and a dispenser by the elevator, so you have to go out and fill it yourself. The safe is an old style and unusable as its lock is stuck in the locked position. I'll ask the staff if they can reset it. The TV is small and has local channels. There are no universal sockets, just two round pins, so bring the right adapter.

The staff who were on hand tried hard to help and show good hospitality, but they clearly had too much on their plate. The place is understaffed. There was no security or concierge to meet me when I arrived, so I wasn't sure where to park. Breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed, and the service fell short of what I'd expect from this brand. Our room had no towels until we asked. The toilet kept flushing, and water dripped from the AC. Security only worked nights, and they called my room very late to ask me to move my car. That was inconsiderate given the hour.

The hotel is close to central Jakarta, with lots of busy hawker stalls and coffee shops nearby. The room and staff were both great. It's an older hotel, so the interior has a bit of a quaint look, but the air conditioner works really well.

Breakfast was tasty, though there wasn't much variety, and the restaurant only opens in the morning. I guess that means there's no room service, but food is easy to get nearby or order online since the location is convenient. The hotel also has a spa and massage service, which I didn't try. The building looks old, but I still found it comfortable and worth the price. I had a double bed and plenty of space in the room. It came with amenities, slippers, tea, coffee, and a jar to fill with mineral water from the hallway dispenser.
