Hotel O Gambir Near Juanda Station Formerly Bunga Dahlia

We could barely find the place at midnight. The map pin sent us to the wrong spot, then a helpful driver and a kind local guide helped us through what felt like a maze. The alley was full of puddles, and we had to carry our bags down its narrow path. Once inside, we paid the deposit and found the rooms weren't clean. I'd booked one double and one twin, but got keys for two doubles, so I went back to the receptionist, the only staff member on duty. The replacement room was dirty too. We asked for fresh sheets for both rooms and were given some with visible stains. It felt as if the property was using the name “Hotel O Gambir” as a front and had pre-owned or reused items from that hotel. We were so disappointed that we decided to book another hotel. We stayed only long enough to sleep briefly, since we were too exhausted to move straight away.

The entrance was really hard to find. Inside, the room was dirty, the sheets had blood and other stains, and there were no towels or amenities. The Wi-Fi didn't work, there was no hot water, and I saw lots of cockroaches and insects. I got hives from them, too. I asked staff to change the sheets. One person said okay but didn't do it; when I asked someone else, they said they hadn't been told. Really awful. I wouldn't recommend it.

The staff were nice and helpful, and the location was good, though Jakarta has 12 million people. There was no blanket, so with the window shut the room got too hot, and with the aircon it got too cold. If I opened the window, mosquitoes came in. The sheets were filthy and stained. I took them to reception and got replacements, which were still stained but clean. There was a discarded condom packet under the bed. They told me the Wi-Fi didn't work. There was a TV, but I couldn't find the remote, and a phone with lines to reception, security, and the kitchen. The menu looked good.

Found gecko poop on my mattress! 😂😂😂 The receptionist didn't even greet me or smile. And I still had to pay Rp50k as a deposit, even though I'm local!
