If you need somewhere to stay in Tanah Abang and aren't too concerned about cleanliness, this could work. I wouldn't recommend it for families or children. I slept well, and they provided warm blankets and towels, but afterward I had red, swollen, itchy skin. Maybe it was ants or other insects, and I can't tell whether they came from the bed, blanket, or towel. I checked the towel rack under the bed again and found spider webs there too. I don't know how the place got an award for cleanliness. There's dust everywhere outside the room. The shared kitchen is on the 5th floor, but I wouldn't recommend it. I only went up to look and found a man there without a shirt. It didn't feel like a nice place for a woman. I hope they improve the service. The room was fairly comfortable for the price. The old air conditioner made noise at first but worked well, and I got used to the old-place smell after a few hours. There are lots of spider webs, and ants appear from somewhere if you leave food on the table. The TV server shuts off after 3 hours; I was too lazy to ask reception about it, so it was okay. The Wi-Fi connection was bad too. There's no waiting room or even chairs, so arrive on time and don't expect a comfortable wait. There isn't an elevator, only stairs. My room was on the 4th floor, which was a bit of a challenge. You can check in early if your room is ready.
