Keraton at The Plaza, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt

What began as a last-minute family trip became one of our most memorable hotel stays. There were four adults in our family, and we wanted connecting rooms, so I emailed about pairing a Keraton Suite with a King Room. Gunawan, Reservations Team Leader, replied quickly and made booking simple. The all-meals-inclusive package was another draw and felt like very good value. Before we even arrived, Wandaka, Bell Team Leader, arranged our airport transfer and helped with parcels that had arrived ahead of us. Jumadi and the airport team were waiting when we landed, and everything went smoothly in about 30 minutes. At the hotel, check-in was efficient and the welcome felt warm, with Keraton's scarves, drinks, and tasty local snacks. Wandaka walked us to the rooms and explained the facilities. Our suite and connected King Bed City View Room were spacious and elegant, with Indonesian touches. The living and dining areas were comfortable, the bathrooms were beautiful and large, and the beds were some of the best we’ve slept in. Housekeeping kept everything spotless each day and prepared thoughtful evening turndowns. We enjoyed eating at Selera Keraton. Breakfast had a wide buffet as well as made-to-order à la carte dishes, and dinner was reliably enjoyable after a day out exploring Jakarta. Even though the hotel sits in the middle of the city at Bundaran HI, it felt like a quiet retreat. The direct link to Plaza Indonesia made shopping and dining easy. The people made the stay especially memorable. Wandaka gave us some of the most personal service we’ve experienced. We could easily reach him on WhatsApp for parcels, GrabFood, laundry, housekeeping, and airport transfers, and he handled everything with care. On our last evening he came by to say goodbye and reassure us about our departure, even though he’d be on leave the next day. Gabe from concierge also went out of his way: when I asked where to buy the snacks from check-in, he found them, bought them for us, and had them beautifully packed. Some of my family had never been to Jakarta, and this stay changed how they saw the city. They fell in love with it, and we’re already planning to return. Thanks to everyone at Keraton. We’ve stayed at many luxury hotels, but few have given us this level of personal attention. Keraton at The Plaza is the best hotel in Jakarta for us, and among the finest stays we’ve had.
