OYO 1672 Wisma Barkah

The biggest problem for me was arriving to find the room unprepared, with no sheets or towels. It also looked different from the photos, with a blanket instead of a quilt and damaged walls. I stayed at the Wisma Lux from 8th - 11th October after booking through booking.com. I had a lot of luggage, including one very large item, 7ft long and 30kg. There’s no elevator, so I had to carry it upstairs myself, and the staff didn’t offer any help. They also don’t speak English, something foreign travellers should know. The air conditioning had been tampered with, as seems common at budget stays around Indonesia, so it wasn’t very cold or powerful. The free WiFi didn’t reach my room, which ruled out Netflix unless I wanted to hang around reception. There’s a mosque next door that calls out at 3 30AM, so don’t expect a good night’s sleep. The shower was strange too. The water kept stopping, then suddenly gushing and spraying out aggressively, perhaps because the hotel had run out or a pipe was blocked. Avoid this place and book somewhere else.
