Being right across from Thamrin City-Cosmo Terrace and other places was convenient. The stay itself was disappointing, though. I spent two nights here, without knowing the price or much else beforehand, and the room felt smaller than my boarding house room. There was a lingering dead-rat-like smell, although there wasn't a rat in the room. Breakfast wasn't what you'd want. They had tea and coffee, which was sort of acceptable, but no milk, toaster, or even plain bread. It was my worst hotel experience. Even Batam would do better at the same level.

This is a basic, four-storey budget place with an elevator, perhaps in the non-star “Melati Class Hotel” category. Its main draw is the location, close to the two big shopping areas, Thamrin City and Tanah Abang, which is why people choose to stay here.

I spent one night in a Deluxe room at Hotel Quds. It was clean and had a TV, fast Wi-Fi, and breakfast with standard Indonesian food, coffee, tea, and dessert. Laundry is available, though you have to pay for it. The rooms, including the standard deluxe type, are fairly cozy and have enough service for a night's rest. I'd say it's suited to someone in town for business for a day or two, rather than a family group.
