I spent three weeks here and was pretty satisfied. Room 23 was near the balcony, so opening the curtains brought in natural light. The place is in a quiet spot in the heart of south Jakarta, and the lighting was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful, though sometimes nobody was at reception. The room and bathroom were clean, the shower had reliable hot and cold water, and the AC worked well most of the time, even if it sometimes switched itself off and on. TV and Wi-Fi worked, toiletries and mineral water were replenished daily, and there’s a sofa on each floor. The room is small, but still good value. The electricity socket under the table was awkward to reach, so I had to bring an extension cable. There was tissue but no box, and I had to ask repeatedly for refills. The reception room’s orange Stella air freshener smelled like a bus and made me nauseous. There’s no lift, though the stairs weren’t a big problem, and no pantry or chiller, just a dispenser in the basement. The clean linen had turned yellowish, towels sometimes ran out, and when I requested daily cleaning the staff cleaned only the room, not the bathroom, so I had to ask for that too. The drawer, mirror, and sink were dirty, and I found some mosquitoes in the bathroom when I checked in.
