The staff were nice, and the cafe upstairs is a must-see in the evening. The hotel itself was okay, but the rooms felt old and could use repairs. Breakfast got boring, with not much food, and the towels should be replaced. There was no hand soap or paper in the rooms. There are water machines in the hallways, but the one on our floor wasn’t plugged in, so it couldn’t give cold or hot water. You can get water from the ground-floor restaurant instead. Manggarai train station is fairly close, about a 10-minute walk. Walking there with lots of luggage isn’t a good idea because the pedestrian routes are poor.

The rooftop restaurant was the best part of my one-night stay for company training. It had great views and a tasty all-you-can-eat buffet, with the option to switch breakfast for sahur. My room was good enough for a three-star hotel, though management should check the appliances more regularly. The AC and shower head both had maintenance issues.

I really enjoyed the room and breakfast, and most things were good. The connection was the one letdown: when I used it for meetings and work, it sometimes kept loading or wouldn’t connect. Still, I’d recommend it very much.

The shower didn’t work in the morning, and there was no water. By then I just wanted to freshen up and leave after a terrible night: no sleep, no shower, and moldy bedding. We checked in around 2 AM after a late flight, exhausted. The room smelled strange, and the windows couldn’t be opened to air it out. We’d picked the place for its affordable price and expected a clean, working room, thinking it was only one night. The service phone was broken, so we couldn’t call the front desk. Someone came to look at it, then said after 5-10 minutes that he needed more time. We were too tired to wait, so we let him go. Later, while using my phone by the bed, I noticed a horrible smell from the pillow. Under the case was a yellow-stained, moldy pillow. I actually dry-heaved. How could they miss that while changing the linens? It looked like they’d just put a clean case over it instead of washing or throwing it away. A major red flag. I was so disgusted I couldn’t get under the blanket. It was too late to switch hotels at 2 AM, and we were exhausted, so I slept in my outerwear and used my own jacket as a blanket. We went downstairs to explain and ask for a refund, showing photos of the broken things. My local friend tried to talk to them, but they refused to refund us and didn’t give a real apology, just a lunch voucher. We already had lunch plans, so it was no use and we got no compensation at all. My friend said even at €30 it wasn’t worth it, since there are cleaner, more decent places nearby. Terrible hygiene, broken facilities, and no customer service. Do NOT book here. Not worth a single night, and I wouldn’t stay again even for free.
