For anyone driving across Sumatra, Hotel Luminor Jambi makes a convenient stop, with easy access and clean, comfortable rooms with modern amenities. Check-in was smooth, the staff were friendly, and breakfast had a decent selection for a short visit. It works well if you need a restful night on a long island road trip, whether you're traveling for business or just passing through.

I requested a non-smoking room through traveloka, but was given a smoking one. The service was awful. I can't tell whether the travelola apps failed or the hotel simply didn't care. The front office staff member was ms. Melda, and she offered no solution. 🤔 A little update from the room: 🤮

The Wi-Fi needs work. Sometimes I disconnect because the internet is so slow. Apart from that, the room is great at keeping noise out. Even in heavy rain, I can barely hear it. I've stayed here three times, and breakfast is what keeps catching my attention. There are lots of good options, and the cook is well trained. I always ask for an egg to be cooked, and it's always done well. It seems the hotel has put money into both the food and room comfort.

For a business trip, this is still a pretty decent option. It's in the middle of the city but off the main roads, so it's quiet enough to rest, and the staff are polite and warm. The Wi-Fi is superb. I expected a bit more from the room. The bed was cozy, clean, and fine, but some kids had scratched up the walls. The bathroom looked clean overall, though I noticed some crusty spots. There was only a rainfall shower, no handheld one, so your hair will almost certainly get wet. No built-in hairdryer either, which means asking the operator for one is a hassle.
