Angkul Angkul Beach Inn Kuta

Kuta Beach, Beachwalk shopping mall, restaurants, convenience stores, and spas are all nearby, and the airport is about 15 minutes away. We stayed here before leaving Bali, and it did the job as a budget inn. The pool was really nice, and the property had a cute look. Our room was clean enough, though not spotless. The bathroom and room doors looked quite worn, the air conditioning wasn’t working well, and the shower was faulty. It served its purpose, but don’t expect much.

A few years ago, I stayed here and booked an extension through the app as my reservation was ending. I went to the lobby to check with the front desk, where customer service suddenly got upset and said it was strange because the room should have been unavailable. The app had let me book it, so I went ahead anyway. I later called the app to report what happened. About half an hour after that, staff came to my room with the booking confirmation.

We were pleasantly surprised by this budget place. I don’t usually book this kind of stay, but the staff were friendly, and although the room felt a bit tight and the bed a little hard for me, I had no real complaints. You do need to ask for the room to be cleaned, but they get to it quickly. The pool is excellent. Sitting on the porch at dusk, with the way the place is set up, made it feel like an expensive private residence. Ankul Ankul Beach Inn is around 150 mtr from Kuta Square, near restaurants, massage places, the beach, honest money changers, and bars with different cuisines. I’m not sure it would suit a young family, in my opinion. I’d been in Bali three weeks earlier, then spotted Supercheap Flights and booked a few extra days. Hoorah for me. Great value for the money! 😁

The location was great and the hotel felt relaxing, with friendly staff and a good breakfast. My room was clean, though there were ants in the bathroom. That bathroom was tiny, you could shower while sitting on the toilet, and the shower head was badly rusted and needed replacing. Still, the value for money was outstanding.
