I used Gunza as my base in January 2026 while taking part in a nearby bamboo architecture workshop. It was a good spot for exploring the forests, farms, and rice terraces around the area. My room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The upstairs restaurant terrace became a nice place to spend the evening and chat with people. Beny, the hotel manager, was a great host. He was just as happy to have a long conversation about life in Bali as he was to help guests efficiently.

Our corner room on the first floor had an amazing rice terrace view, and the hotel has some of the best views in town. You can ask the staff about flying a drone from the upper floor. The staff were really nice, and there’s an e-bike tour of the terraces with a guide for 300.000 per person, including a meal. The room was cozy and modern, with sliding glass doors and a roomy balcony. It had a TV, kettle, two tea mugs, clothing rack without hangers, a couple of wall shelves, and a drying rack. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure strong, but there wasn’t enough hot water for two people. No AC, though the cool night air made the room comfortable. A few areas seemed to need maintenance, but that didn’t bother us much. Breakfast is complimentary. We also got watermelon on arrival, two Coca-Cola cans, two bottles of water, coffee and sugar, a bar of soap, shampoo, and toothbrushes with toothpaste. Highly recommend.

The manager’s service was perfect, and the whole team was always available to help. They sorted everything for me, from renting a motorbike to arranging a taxi transfer. I also joined a bicycle tour with their guide Peri, and it was AMAZING! I had a great stay. The room was very clean and spacious, I was welcomed with fresh fruit and free drinks, and the view from the top building was breathtaking.

Pak Benny was so helpful and attentive during our stay, and his kindness made it even more enjoyable. We loved the delicious food, with every meal a highlight, and the view over the Jatiluwih rice fields was stunning. Gunza Bed and Breakfast gave us a wonderful stay. We’ll definitely return, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tranquil, memorable experience.
