Swiss-Belhotel Papua

I really appreciated the hotel's location and lovely view, but ants in my room affected my comfort. I opened a pack of crackers at night, and by morning there were ants inside the food.

I've been returning to this Swiss-Bel for over a year. The ocean-side location is convenient, very safe, and beautiful, and the pool, gym, spa, and other amenities are always working. The food is consistently appetizing, and the staff are exemplary and extremely accommodating. A family friendly and business friendly place to stay when visiting Papua.

The food was my main letdown. Most dishes were bland and barely seasoned, with little variety. There was no egg station at breakfast, my favorite mung bean porridge was much too watery, the juices tasted bland, and even the rice was a bit hard. If dining is what you're hoping to enjoy, you may leave disappointed. For the clean, comfortable room, well-kept facilities, sea view, and front desk service, though, it was a decent choice. I stayed a couple of nights, and the humble, friendly staff were especially helpful when I asked for an early check-in. That made arriving easy. The pool was nice, but I wished it were bigger and deeper.

The views never disappoint, and I always love staying here. Staff are respectful and responsive, and there are lots of places to dine out around the hotel complex. It was a great stay.
