The Journey Hotel

I know this is a budget hotel, but I still expected a clean bed. There were lots of stains on the bedsheet and comforter, and the bathroom was kind of dirty too. Why was the body soap actually hand wash soap? 😭 For 400+ a night, I expected a bit more. I think the place has potential, and I hope they improve the hygiene.

The staff were friendly and ready with local tips and directions, and the location made it easy to visit Yogyakarta’s many attractions. My stay at Journey Hotel was an enjoyable, simple, no-fuss experience. The amenities are basic but covered my needs, and the cozy, well-kept room gave me a good night’s sleep after sightseeing. It’s straightforward, comfortable accommodation for exploring the area.

I liked sleeping here and had a nice stay. The food was delicious, and the room interior is so photogenic that almost every angle makes a good backdrop, even the plates are nicely designed. My only problem was a fairly strong smell from the toilet. Luckily there was air freshener, which helped disguise it. The hotel is quite far from the city center.

Nice interior and a low price, and the hotel itself was nice. Just note that they only provide two bottles of mineral water on the first day, so bring your own if you drink a lot. Parking is limited to two cars. If there’s no space, you’ll need to leave your key with the hotel.
