Bunga Jabe Beach

Yaya made us feel welcome at this beautiful, simple spot. Little local huts, hammocks, sand, grass, and shade right by the beach. We spent the best part of our trip here and could have stayed beneath the coconut trees forever. The snorkeling was really good too.

We tried the local dish made with cooked banana flower, or heart, and it was amazing. Mas david and his mother were so kind and welcoming.

We had a nice, clean room and a quiet beachfront setting, but the service was poorly managed and the downsides outweighed the good. We got no room service during our four nights, breakfast was basic, and most of the workers were on their phones. We often had to ask more than once to get things done, apart from the kitchen cooks. They didn't proactively tell us that nobody would be around after 5pm, so ask well ahead if you need dinner or help. Rental motorbikes were nearly out of petrol, with no warning. We were also charged almost double the property's own nightly price through booking, and they charge a lot if you accidentally break a plate. The location and room were good, but the whole stay felt poorly handled.

We spent three days here and would've happily stayed longer. The little houses are basic, with just a mattress on the floor and a shared shower and toilet, but that worked fine since we were outside all day. The sea is right there, and the spot is peaceful, with hammocks and places to sit outdoors. I'd recommend renting scooters to explore the island. Staff didn't speak much English but did their best to help. There's also a small restaurant, plus snorkeling tours and gear for rent.
