Mirabelle Joglo Village

We spent two days in the Frangipani villa. The owner can arrange island transport, scooter rental, and snorkeling trips, so they helped with much more than just accommodation. I'd suggest booking directly with the owner through WhatsApp, since that should cost less than Airbnb or another platform. There are several kinds of accommodation in the same complex, with a generous garden and walking area for guests. A mini bar in the middle stocks several brands of light alcoholic drinks. I'd recommend the place to anyone holidaying on the island.

Laurent was especially helpful and gave us great ideas for seeing the island. We found the place peaceful and relaxing, with a well-kept garden where breakfast is served, and the breakfast was delicious. Our bungalow was beautiful, with a roomy bathroom and AC, and we could watch the sunrise from the terrace. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.

The garden is gorgeous, just as people say, and Laurent and his family make the whole place feel so welcoming. We spent five nights there as a family of three, with our nine-year-old daughter, and didn't even need a scooter. Two beaches were an easy walk away and felt like playgrounds. We felt really well cared for. We took a private snorkeling boat tour through the hotel and saw an incredible coral garden. The sports massage was brilliant too. The beds were comfortable, wifi very strong, and they have a generator for when the island's electricity goes out. Breakfast was fresh, delicious, and had enough choice. The outdoor shower had great pressure, and we could relax on a flower-surrounded veranda with views of the sea and stars. Such a chilled-out hotel, really recommend it.

The people are a huge part of what makes Mirabelle special. Laurent and his wife Eta are genuinely kind and authentic, and everything was easy with them. Their two children are lovely. The owners built the place and live here, and that spirit comes through everywhere. Our wooden bungalow was simple in its decor but had everything we needed and was perfectly clean. The outdoor bathroom and shower were a game changer. The garden is beautifully designed and cared for by the owners, with wooden bungalows around the edges, a central bar, a pergola, and cozy places to sit. The shared spaces look out to sea from above. We arrived late because our boat was delayed and were rushing to catch the early 5:30 sunset. Laurent sent a car to pick us up, and a rental scooter was already waiting, so the holiday could start right away. He can organize everything, including boat trips, massages, and ferry tickets, and we settled up at checkout. Mineral water is free and self-serve. For a drink after dinner, we could take what we wanted from the bar fridge and write it in a notebook to pay later. It all reflects a place built around sharing and trust.
