Arpana Villas

We felt tucked away from the rest of the world in our own little tropical garden, thanks to how private this place is. The cafe and restaurant also have a lovely view and delicious food. It’s a shame the restaurant shuts before dinner time. We had an exceptional stay.

A personal note first: I had a very bad injury early in the trip, and the staff checked on me several times every day. They also brought me a special gift of local fruit while I was recovering. Thank you all. Their care and help showed throughout the stay. They respected our request for quiet by waiting to use the lawn machinery until we were out for the day, and mostly worked with quiet brushes. They handled anything we needed, including wonderful breakfasts that fit our dietary needs. The cleaning crew was efficient, and we felt treated as individuals. The villa at Arpana Villas is gorgeous and huge, with a kitchen, two separate bedroom houses with bathrooms, a pool and plenty of yard space inside its own walls. You don’t see other guests. The beds could be softer, though 3-inch memory foam toppers do wonders. The pool had far too much chlorine; staff added water to try to help. The biggest disappointment was road noise. You can’t see the road, but you hear it all day and night, sometimes very loudly. Soundproofing the houses would help. I’d still recommend staying here, as Bali was loud everywhere we experienced.

After two days, the main problem with our family’s stay at ARPANA VILLA was clear: the accommodation was poor, and the motorbikes roaring past Room 205 beside the road kept us awake well past midnight. That level of noise badly affected our sleep and felt unacceptable for a holiday villa. Our first impression had been very positive. This newly opened place has been operating for about a year, and everything looked exceptionally clean and tidy. The garden is beautiful, the breakfast area is comfortable, the food is tasty and the staff are very professional. But the master bedroom, with its high ceiling, had inadequate lighting and felt dim at night, even though it was bright during the day. There wasn’t a comfortable sofa. The shower and toilet area was excessively bright, so we spent much of our time in the bathroom. There was only one air conditioner, and the open-plan toilet with its high ceiling left the bathroom stiflingly hot. It made for a deeply regrettable stay.

We were a family of 24 and found the villa very comfortable, with large rooms, comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. When I urgently needed an item that wasn’t available in the country, reception managed to get it to me within 24 hours. Breakfast and lunch aren’t extensive, but there’s a good selection for everyone. It worked very well for our family gathering, while still giving couples their own private space and pool. It’s easy to reach other parts of southern Bali and not far from the airport. The property had only been open for a few months and was still expanding, with a communal pool and other lovely features planned. I’d recommend the villa and look forward to returning to see the finished plans.
