The room worked well for the overnight stay we needed, and the bathroom itself was clean. But the sink drain pipe emptied straight onto the floor, so dirty water splashed up. Please be careful with the bill. I’d pay through the booking agent: the staff spoke little English and seemed unsure of the room price. Bookings.com showed 300 rupiah, then a message said 500. After we had to get cash from an ATM because there was no card machine, they suddenly asked for 640 rupiah plus taxes. It’s not a high-end place, but feeling openly ripped off is a hard no for me, and it stopped me from tipping as generously as I normally would. After we tried to get staff to admit their “mistake,” we tipped the guy who drove my husband to an ATM that morning. Suddenly everyone was smiling. 400 rupiah went into the till and 100 into someone’s pocket, and the problem disappeared. Not impressed with RedDoorz. 🙁😢😢

The staff were all very kind and willing to help, and it’s a lovely spot for gathering and relaxing with beautiful scenery. Some rooms do have issues, though, like a broken bathroom door seal or a toilet that wasn’t working properly.

There’s lots of pretty scenery and Instagram-worthy spots, plus access to the water park area is free. The rooms are affordable, service is good, and parking costs nothing. From the Jatiluhur toll gate, it takes about 30 minutes to get here. There are plenty of street food stalls nearby, including baso, batgor, and mie ayam. A nice place to visit with your family.

I was here on December 30th, 2019, back when I was in junior high school. This is the best swimming pool in Purwakarta.

At night there’s nowhere to get food, and when it rains the walkway to the upstairs rooms has no roof.
