This was my fifth trip to Bali, and Ayana Bali's attentive service was excellent. The villa butler service especially reminded us of our recent time in the Maldives. A special thanks to our butler, Gus. We were also impressed by the breakfast and service at DAVA restaurant, and really enjoyed our stay.

We had an excellent honeymoon at the waterfront villas. Our driver, Anom, was world-class and by the end of the trip honestly felt like a longtime friend. The whole staff took great care of us.

My husband convinced me last year to try the Ayana Villa, which had been on his bucket list. I hadn't thought much of ultra-luxury resorts in Bali with so many choices, but we had such a good stay that we've come back this year. The range of things to do is impressive, and staff at the spa and restaurants remembered us from last year. The small gifts for returning guests made us feel very welcome and special. If a luxury hotel chain wants to learn about customer service, it should talk to Ayana. I'd recommend staying in the villa. The breakfast at Dava and exclusive buggy access were treats, as was the Instagram pool. If you're visiting Bali for the first or second time and aren't focused on tourist spots, you can experience Bali at Ayana without leaving the resort. This is my 25th time in Bali, and I've watched the traffic become unbearable. Spending two hours a day to travel 10-15 km isn't a holiday, so trust me, you don't need to look at other resort options. I'd give them a sixth star for their sustainability efforts. There's very little plastic around the resort compared with other Indonesian hotels.

The villas were nice, fairly new and really spacious, and there were plenty of good food options on the property. But the resort is cashless, which disappointed me because we had cash we wanted to spend before leaving. I like using cash, and this makes me reluctant to return. It's also a mega-resort, so getting around means taking a buggy. Calling one and waiting 10-15 minutes each time could get cumbersome.

The resort feels like a postcard, with spacious, peaceful private villas, beautiful design and breathtaking views. Our villa's private pool and floating breakfasts were lovely, and the Rock Bar experience felt magical. From arrival, the warm staff paid attention to the details and made us feel very well treated. A dreamy, romantic escape if you want luxury and peace. 🌺✨
