I couldn't wait to leave the next morning. The smell made us feel sick. The floor was wet all the time because of old pipes, and the place smelled like vomit. When it rained, even more water got into our room. There was no service to speak of, and the Wi-Fi never worked in the room. The receptionist was highly unprofessional, pulling a sad face while telling us we had to pay 100k to leave our luggage at reception for one more day. The shower had no hot water, and the toilet wouldn't flush. There were barking stray dogs all over, so if you're afraid of dogs, don't come here.

I enjoyed my stay, and the staff were really nice and friendly. The location was ideal for walking to the beach or the cliffs to watch the sunset. It was very inexpensive, so don't expect more than what you pay for.

The room was damp and really smelly, especially on wet days. It was dirty, with ants all over and in the sheets, and there was no hot water. The facilities were bad from the moment we walked in. We got lice, and when we asked them to clean the disgusting room, they wouldn't.

I came away with vivid memories of the sunrises and sunsets at Balangan Hotel. It's a peaceful place by the ocean, up on a mountain, and felt like a perfect escape for a solo trip. I was absolutely enchanted by it. Highly recommended if you're looking for an unforgettable stay.

The best thing is how close the beach is, just a one-minute walk. Beach cafes are two minutes away, and scooter rental is right next door. It's super cheap, about $10AUD per person per night for my stay. I'd recommend it if you want a slow, quiet holiday with fewer tourists. The security needs to be better at night, though. A drunken man ended up banging on our door in the middle of the night.
