Bali Bobo Hostel

This was my last night in Bali. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly, though there wasn’t really anything nearby. I liked the interesting murals, and each bed had a privacy curtain. You needed a card to get in and out. The breakfast was too sweet. The men’s and women’s bathrooms and showers were in the same area, but they weren’t shared. One warning: avoid Baim Laundry on the street corner. They ruined my white clothes and verbally abused their customers.

The only real downside is the location: it’s outside the tourist areas, so you’ll need a scooter or Grab/Gosek to get around. Still, I had a wonderful five-night stay at Bali Bobo Hostel. The atmosphere was lovely, and I met several people who’d returned after visiting other parts of the island because they’d liked their previous stay. The staff were so friendly and made me feel at home, even though I was thousands of kilometers away. It was very clean, with lockers and a huge amount of space under the beds for bags. There’s scooter parking, good WiFi, a pool, free coffee and tea, and discounts for nearby activities. Breakfast was delicious and different each day. Within 500m there’s a laundry that’s professional and cheap, a restaurant with a pool where the food was okay but not wow, and a small warung selling cigarettes and beer cheaper than the supermarket. Their massage partner gave me the best massage I’d had in Bali after 5-6 tries. It cost 120000 for an hour, and I recommend the outstanding 1.5 hour option. I was celebrating my 50th birthday and they gave me a piece of cake and sang “happy Bday.” I’ll remember that until I get Alzheimer’s. Thanks, Bobo staff, you rock!

The hostel still has the same welcoming feel I remember from three years ago, when I stayed here before. I came back a couple of days ago, and it was easy to feel at home again. Everyone working there is really friendly. There’s lots of room, comfy beds, AC, plenty of toilets, and showers with warm water and good pressure. It’s just the perfect place to stay!

Breakfast was delicious each morning, and I’d love to come back someday. I had a great stay at Bali Bobo: the staff were welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere was friendly throughout the day, and the rooms were clean and in good shape.
