The staff were very kind and helpful, and they drove me to a pharmacy after I injured my leg, brought me ice, and later gave me a free ride to the airport. The villa is spacious and nice, though you can hear the busy parking lot from the upstairs bedroom, and the insulation there isn’t great. I thought the pictures showed a villa directly on the beach, but it’s actually behind the beach warungs, next to a huge, busy parking lot. There’s a lot of smoke once the cooking starts. The three-level layout also felt unsafe at night: the bedroom is upstairs, and to reach the bathroom you have to go back down stairs in the dark. Turning on the bedroom light still doesn’t show the last steps. I used my phone torch and still couldn’t see properly, stepped badly, fell, and broke my leg. It was completely my fault, but they should make the downstairs light come on when you walk down from the bedroom. The owner and staff were really nice and responsive, and I’m very grateful for their help.

We had planned to stay for two nights, but the villa was so dirty that we asked for a refund for the second night and moved elsewhere. There were bugs on the beds, hair in the shower, the WiFi didn’t work, and the place didn’t look as good as the photos. We asked politely for a refund, but the owner got angry and called us “nasty people.” The other staff were very nice and tried to help, but the owner treated us terribly.

The rooms were okay, the AC worked well, I slept comfortably, and I enjoyed breakfast. The price was reasonable, so even though my friends and I were unsure at first because of the way in, we stayed two nights since we had little time to find somewhere else. I’d recommend it to others, especially budget travellers. A couple of things could be improved: the bathroom light and the shower hose, which was too short for me. Unfortunately, we couldn’t use the airport drop-off. The car wouldn’t start after our luggage was already loaded, so we had to hire another ride and move all our bags. Keep improving.

From the third floor you can enjoy a beautiful view of the beach, and there are plenty of seafood restaurants right across from the house within walking distance. The owner and staff are really nice and helpful.

It’s a good location, and while the property isn’t very new, it does what you need. The host is hospitable too.
