Kubu Taru

You can rent scooters here, which makes this a perfect place if you ride one. It’s peaceful, the staff are really friendly, and there are lovely views over the rice paddies.

For the price, this homestay is amazing value. It sits in a beautiful spot among quiet rice fields, and the room is really nice. The bathroom looks great and is beautifully decorated too.

The views at Kubu Taru were breathtaking, and I think this place has real potential. But the hut we were given was dusty, and the sheets didn’t feel freshly changed, as if they’d been there for a few days. What put me off completely was the stale but unopened bottled water. My friend wasn’t feeling well, and I was sure we’d be uncomfortable in the hut, so we had to find somewhere else at the last minute. I hope the people maintaining Kubu Taru put more care into it, whether through proper maintenance or restoration. Better rooms could have made this experience much better.

We liked the lovely wooden huts, which add a lot to the atmosphere, and the food was really good. The owner was very nice, as was the woman who cooked and looked after the rooms. Kubu Taru is in a great spot away from the touristy, busy areas, with nice views of green fields and mt Agung. It’s beside the road, but we didn’t find the noise too bad.
