Keraton Jimbaran Beach Resort

Rainy days in Bali felt beautiful and poetic at this resort. The room was large and clean, though it could use a little fixing up. Breakfast didn’t have a huge selection, but it was still much better than Holiday Inn Express Brisbane, which costs three times as much.

The gardens are beautifully kept, and the hotel is right on the beach. There isn’t much happening at the hotel itself, but there are nice barbecue places nearby on the beach. The café and breakfast area get hot since there are no fans, and the breakfast coffee is weak.

Breakfast was quite good, though the choices were limited, and the lobby and cleaning staff were very friendly. The hotel is beautiful, and while it’s old, some facilities are still well maintained. We had concerns about the bathroom drain smell in room 211, dusty corners, stains on the sheets, and the floor cleanliness. The egg station staff member came across as arrogant. We’re a Muslim family and asked whether pork was used, but he answered in a curt, dismissive way. Then he chatted and smiled nicely with foreign guests who came up, a striking difference in how he treated people. The hotel is pretty good overall, with direct beach access and a very low price of USD 65/night.

Jimbaran beach is right outside the resort, which has traditional architecture and spacious rooms. It’s my favorite place to stay in Bali. The buffet breakfast is excellent, and there’s great shopping in the warangs beside the hotel. I’ve also had great massages with Rosa and Maya. Resort staff are attentive, polite, and considerate.
