Sofia Boutique Residence

I was struck by how calm the whole hotel felt. It was just right for proper rest and some time to myself. The room’s classic, elegant design was beautiful to look at, and I loved staying at Sofia Boutique Residence. The hospitality was excellent. Everyone greeted me warmly, and the receptionist stood out in particular. She was professional and welcoming, and gave me helpful local recommendations. Nearly everything about the place felt perfect. I’ll definitely come back on my next trip to Yogyakarta. Keep up the great work!

The hotel felt oppressive, like it was draining our energy. Our room was dusty, and the AC still wasn’t cold even at 26 degrees after we asked staff to check it. The lobby was very hot because they chose not to turn on the AC. Breakfast was only available at 7 am and had to be cooked first. When we arrived, several security guards came up to our car with unsympathetic gestures.

I stayed for 8 days and was impressed by how welcoming the staff were. They were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make guests feel at ease. When the AC in my first room wouldn’t cool down, they promptly moved me to another room where it worked perfectly. That quick, no-questions-asked response made me feel valued. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, a good place to unwind after a long day. The hotel looks attractive and well designed, though close up I noticed some small chips and cracks that suggest its age. My shower head also had some calcium buildup, so the water sprayed in a few odd directions. Those were minor issues and didn’t spoil my stay. I enjoyed the visit and would gladly return. The comfortable rooms and excellent staff and service make it easy for me to recommend. I’d rate it 9.5/10.

The pool was clean, and the water didn’t sting our eyes. There were a few dry leaves in it, but nothing major. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a luxurious dark classic style that made my husband and me want to stay in all day. Everything was spotless, which might have been the best part. Kak Dila was so sweet and helped arrange simple honeymoon decorations in our room at no charge. The service was the best. The one letdown was security: he didn’t pay much attention while my husband carried a lot of things up the long stairs in the drop-off area. We also enjoyed hanging out and having coffee in the cozy café. Regina served us and was very friendly (and gorgeous!). The coffee cup handle was too small for my elegant fingers, so it was hard to hold properly. We had a great experience and will come back with our big family next time.
