Arakana Villa has a striking view and a peaceful feel, in a great spot in Jimbaran. Though the property is brand new, it’s been designed so skillfully to feel like a luxurious villa that’s a century old. The decor and high-end equipment bring together old-fashioned charm and modern comfort, without giving up any luxuries. It was an unforgettable stay, and I highly recommend it to anyone after an extraordinary time in Bali.

The room was still noisy late into the night, with motorbikes roaring past Room 205 beside the road and seriously affecting our sleep. After two days, that became the biggest problem with our stay. The accommodation itself felt very poor: the master bedroom had a high ceiling but too little light, so it was bright enough by day and quite dim at night, and there wasn’t a comfortable sofa. The shower and toilet area, on the other hand, was so brightly lit that we ended up spending much of our time in the bathroom. There was only one air conditioner, and the open-plan toilet area with its high ceiling made the bathroom stiflingly hot. At first, we were impressed by how clean and tidy the newly opened ARPANA VILLA was. The garden is beautifully designed, breakfast is served in a comfortable setting and the food tastes good. The staff are also very professional. But the noise and the room itself made this a deeply disappointing holiday stay.
