The Astari Villa & Residence

The room was tidy, clean and well equipped, with AC, a TV, mini-fridge, hairdryer, bathrobes, kettle and iron. Laundry service is available, and the bathroom had toiletries, toilet paper and towels. The medium-sized pool and sunbathing area were fine, though the pool area was overgrown, stuffy and poorly ventilated, as is typical for the area. The pool itself looked clean. Service was a letdown from the start. There was nobody at reception when we arrived, so we waited for someone to show up. Staff seemed uninterested in helping, giving us a parking spot or welcoming us, and that continued through our stay. We didn't even get breakfast the next morning. At about 400,000 IDR, the room matches what you get. The listed 1.5jt IDR on booking sites would be far too expensive given the poor service and inadequate breakfast.

The setting at Astari Residence & Villa is stunning, and the villas and pools are amazing. The breakfasts were very good, too. Staff were consistently smiling, kind and attentive, and ready to help with specific requests. As a remote worker, I needed reliable internet, and that was the one thing that could be improved. The team resolved the issue and helped me get a better connection so I could work throughout my stay, which I really appreciate. If you're planning to work remotely here, I'd let them know in advance that you need a stable connection. Five stars, I highly recommend it.

We loved staying in the private villa. It was very private, communication was great, and there were some lovely breakfast options. The bed was huge and comfortable, and coming back to nice cool AC was great.

We stayed here for the first few nights of our honeymoon, and it was a lovely experience. The place was beautiful and the staff so kind. We ordered breakfast each morning, and it was delicious.
