Villa Kapungkur

The southern location made me hesitate at first, since I usually stay elsewhere in Bali, but it turned out to be perfect. We were close to lots of good food, water sports, surfing, and even Kecak fire dance. I stayed for 1 week with my parents, husband, and 3 kids aged 9-17. The rooms were lovely, spacious and well equipped, with a peaceful feel. We each had our own space, plus a large central gathering area where we could hang out after dinner. Pak Ram the manager and the rest of the staff were attentive and caring. They made sure we were comfortable and helped us choose and book activities. It was such a wonderful stay that we’re already thinking about when to return.

Villa kapungkur is my favourite place to stay in Bali. Its design is one of the most unique I’ve come across, pairing a classic Javanese style with a modern interior. The welcoming, helpful staff made the stay even better, and the spacious Wantilan (living area) in the middle of the villa was perfect for my family and me to gather. Highly recommended in Jimbaran, Bali.

Ram, the property manager, arranged a canang sari activity for the kids and explained what it means. He also went out of his way to organise a surprise for us at the request of my husband’s business associate from Sydney. The staff treated us to a lovely Balinese family dinner, with a special menu for the kids. They were friendly and always helpful, and I’d happily stay here again on our next Bali visit. This was a great place for our big family get-together, 8 adults and 6 kids. There are 5 separate bungalows, a beautiful pool, and a huge living and playroom. The villa has traditional Balinese charm alongside high-standard modern finishes, and it’s well maintained. There’s an on-site housekeeper and cook, pool guy and security guard. The kitchen has an air fryer and Italian coffee machine.

I stayed in the Joglo room for 6 nights through New Years. It looked out over a private garden and pond, and the staff were welcoming and available from morning till night. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and set up well for modern life, with large LG smart TVs and a Netflix subscription, high-end shower heads, and smart Japanese toilets. The place is peaceful, but it really comes alive at night, when the lighting and sounds of nature show off the villa’s character. I loved the mix of traditional Javanese homes and modern comforts. A very unique stay, and I’ll come back!
