Santhiku Hotel felt like a tropical garden, with lovely, unusual decor. We stayed three nights and had a really nice time. The friendly ladies on staff helped with everything, and we were greeted with tea and fresh fruit. They arranged activities for us and made a good breakfast. The cat, welcoming dog, and singing, talking bird made the place even more special. We’d definitely recommend it! :)

The hotel has a tucked-away homestay feel and a funky Yoga vibe. I came back for a second visit to try different massages, and they were fabulous. The next day I visited their sister hotel Dream Hill, which has the same wonderful owner. They run lots of Yoga retreats with unusual offerings, and after looking at rooms at both places, I think either could be a perfect escape for some Zen time. One note about the photos: the little garden with statues is at Santhiku hotel; the rest are from Dream Hill. The two hotels share facilities and amenities, depending on what you’re after, the room type, and which location you choose.

The one thing to plan around is dinner. You can't eat at the hotel, but they offer menus from nearby places and will call in an order and have it delivered. It worked well, though delivery added time, which mattered when it was raining heavily and we wanted to stay in. The hotel itself is peaceful, original, and has a Zen feel, with spa services. They welcomed us with a foot massage, tea, and fruit salad. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I loved the hotel's unusual look, and the cat and bird were great. The staff were warm and friendly too. My downsides were the uncomfortable bed and air conditioning that didn't work properly.
