We arrived at midnight and were still welcomed warmly. Since we had to head out very early, they kindly prepared a full breakfast for us. The place is lovely for a family holiday, with a big pool, pretty garden, vegetable farm, and even a dairy cow farm. Service was warm and friendly, and we had a really enjoyable stay.

The staff's hospitality really stood out. They were so kind and helpful, and it felt like visiting a relative's home. Try their mozzarella cheese, it's delicious and not salty. The hotel is very close to the train station, though if you want to be near the city center, keep that in mind.

The guided walks in the beautiful area and the spice garden visit we took were lovely, and both the hotel and restaurant had good service and food. The main drawback was the mosque loudspeakers nearby. It sounded like there were about ten mosques, broadcasting prayers several times a day, waking us at 4 a.m. and leaving us overstimulated at dinner. Everything else was perfect, though, and I'd come back if I visited Kalibaru again.

We stopped here briefly near Kawah Ijen. The staff were really nice, the room was comfortable, and the pool was perfect even in the rain. The plantation is worth visiting too.

The resort arranged a really enjoyable tour of local factories and plantations. We saw how they make bricks, coffee, tofu, rice, and aluminum cooking utensils. Our guide was super friendly and spoke great English and Dutch. I only wish the bakery and dairy farm products were easier for guests to buy. The accommodation is basic but perfectly fine, with air conditioning and lots of greenery and colorful plants. Everyone was incredibly friendly, including Micky the cat at reception. A hidden gem.
