The rooms feel a bit dated, though they were comfortable, and the staff were attentive and incredibly helpful. We stayed the night before hiking Mount Raung, and they gave us plenty of advice for the climb and kept our bikes and valuables while we were away. After we returned, they offered complimentary tea and suggestions for things to see nearby. The resort itself has lovely outdoor grounds, a large pool, a river, and peaceful views. Foreign tourists don't seem to visit this area much, but we'd highly recommend Mount Raung. It was the highlight of our time in Java, which we enjoyed far more than Ijen. Margo Utomo Hill View Resort is well worth a visit too.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the hotel is quiet, so it works well for a night's sleep and a swim to freshen up. The room isn't anything special, but it has what you need.

The location is the hotel's best feature, beside a fast-flowing river and dense tropical forest, and it looks quite lovely there. The rooms are very basic, with a shower like you'd expect at a one-star campsite in Europe. Breakfast was meagre and the pool was dirty. I only just realized it's a two-star hotel, so maybe I expected too much.

It took ages to get the mie rebus I ordered, even though there were only two of us in the restaurant. The hotel is old, the toilet wouldn't flush, and the broken doors couldn't be locked.

It's a quiet, pleasant spot in the Kalibaru area, with cool weather, and a nice option for getting away from city noise. The cottages sit among trees and plants, so you may find ants or other insects in your room. Breakfast was poor. There's a swimming pool, and the bathroom is spacious with a natural feel. The rooms have no air conditioning, there is no elevator, and each building has two villas. The traditional decor is lovely.
