Villa Rumah Kita

The garden feels like paradise, the pool is good, and the staff are nice. The food was good, with a few options to choose from. The mosque noise was the downside for me. There are calls several times a day that go on for hours, and between 2 and 5 at night there are multiple loud singers and speeches.

The food was good and the staff were very sweet, but the night was hard to sleep through. It was steaming hot in the room, with no air conditioner, and the fan over the bed left me waking up with a sore throat. The windows are open at the top with screens, so you can hear everything, and the accommodation is surrounded by mosques with morning prayers. Bring noise cancelling earplugs. We arrived after a long trip around Java, at our last accommodation before crossing to Bali. Peter said he would “explain it all.” It’s a night I’ll remember, though for that amount, what should you expect? I’m not sure whether it’s the accommodation’s fault or the travel agency’s.

A lovely sunrise and a clean swimming pool were part of our stay. The accommodation was spacious and very clean, and Peter was waiting when we arrived around 7 pm, with an extra bed already set up for our child. The food was nice, and all the staff were friendly. There’s a small box for anyone who wants to leave the staff a tip. A hidden gem in East Java.

The owner was very friendly, and we had a wonderful time at Rumah Kita. We went with him to different plantations and learned a lot about coffee, cacao, rubber, and life in Indonesia. The food they made was good, and the place is clean, with a beautiful garden and a great swimming pool. We recommend it.
