The staff were friendly and helpful, and there’s plenty of parking for motorbikes, cars, and minibuses. We stayed Sunday night and paid IDR 282.000,- nett for a spacious Deluxe Double Room booked through tiket.com, with no breakfast. Our room was on the second floor of this three-floor hotel. It had a comfortable double bed, large wardrobe, tables and chairs, mirror, tissue, mineral water, kettle with sugar, tea and coffee, towels, two pairs of slippers, toothbrushes, comb, liquid shampoo and soap, and toothpaste. The clean, roomy bathroom had a Western-style toilet, wall hooks, a good hot shower, toilet paper, sink, and mirror. Wi-Fi was decent and free, and the Android TV had a few free channels. There are three meeting rooms and a shared dining room. You can order simple food and drinks to your room, and the hotel also offers herbal health products, spa treatments, and beauty services. One thing to note, the water dispensers on every floor were all empty.

I really liked the hotel’s concept and how it presents its medical history, including the preserved medicinal plants on display. They also offer activities tied to the health and medical theme, like an aromatic garden tour, educational walks about medicinal plants, massages, an exercise room, and nature activities for families or couples. Environment and service both get 4/5 from me, but cleanliness is 3.5/5. The place is great, though it needs better upkeep, and the rooms weren’t very clean.

The location is strategically close to tourist spots and facilities. The place is actually a government training boarding house converted into a hotel, so it has a political feel to it.

Tawangmangu’s best area to stay, with plenty of hotels, food options, and a fresh market nearby. The mosque is quite far away, though.

Hortus Inn, thanks for an enjoyable stay. The hotel’s surroundings have a wonderful view, and the atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Prices are affordable too. I’d recommend staying here.
