The staff and boss were really nice and helpful, and there’s always free coffee, tea, and water for guests. Our room was very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the bedding was fresh and fluffy. The shower had good pressure and hot water. The outside still looked a lot like a building site, with stuff lying around. Also, Kuta center is about 5 km away, though you can rent a scooter right there.

The kind family made the stay especially nice, and we slept well in the very comfortable beds. Our room and bathroom were spacious, and each room had its own small terrace. There’s also a shared kitchen, and scooters cost 75K per day to rent. It’s a little outside the center, which makes it a good escape from Kuta’s bustle. The beautiful surf beaches are easy to reach, and the airport is only 20 minutes away. We’d definitely come back.

We arrived at around 7:30 PM, a family of five with two adults, two children, and a 2-year-old toddler, after booking through booking.com. The only sign we saw was for Warung Turtle. Someone who said they were security asked to see our booking, then called someone, directed us to the parking lot, and escorted us to our room. When we were leaving the next morning, a person claiming to be the villa manager told us there was an extra charge of IDR 120,000 per person for an extra bed for more than two guests, as stated on booking.com. We had already explained that the booking.com policy said children could stay overnight. Security hadn’t given us any information when escorting us to the room, so it was strange to be charged only as we were leaving. We only went there once, and I hope there won’t be another scam that harms the image of Kuta Mandalika, Lombok, and Indonesia. We asked permission to photograph the person who claimed to be the villa manager.
