Kerta Family

We came across Kerta Warung after visiting Candra Spa next door, and it turned into a lovely, homey meal on our last night before leaving Bali. The owners were engaging and accommodating, and the food was rustic Indonesian cooking. It’s near Uma waterfall, in a village that was mesmerizing to walk through. I understand they also run a homestay. If you’re looking for quiet and a connection with local culture, I’d recommend it.

The Kerta family made us feel more like friends than guests, with their warmth, helpfulness, smiles, and stories. We spent three nights at Kerta Family B&B, arriving straight from the airport, and it was a perfect quiet first stop after a long trip. The bed was comfortable, nights were completely peaceful, and the homemade food was delicious and full of flavor. The B&B is in a tranquil village surrounded by nature, away from Ubud’s crowds and busy center. There’s also a pretty waterfall just a few minutes’ walk away. Highly recommended.

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but staying with Kerta was the best part of our trip through Indonesia. During our month of traveling, coming back to Ubud always felt like coming home. My friends and I felt at home with Kerta and his family, who helped with everything from planning our route to choosing paths and mapping out Bali’s most beautiful and important places. It’s about 20 minutes by scooter from the center, in a peaceful spot away from Ubud’s chaos. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, with a lovely plate of seasonal fruit. Dinner felt like a meal made by mom, with good conversation and their contagious smiles. I hope I get to return to Bali, and I’d stay with Kerta again without hesitation. 🤍

The breakfast was so delicious, and the owner was really kind. Staying here felt like being at home. This hotel was way better than expected, and I’ll come back when I visit Ubud! 100/100 ❣️✨
