Werkudara Guest House

We planned to stay seven nights, but the experience was so authentic that we cancelled nearly all our other bookings. Sandi and Mancu are a wonderful family, caring and welcoming, always ready with helpful suggestions, and they treated us like family. Mancu makes breakfast with love. The four individual rooms were clean, and you can rent a scooter right there. The location is peaceful, about 10 minutes by scooter from Ubud. It's a great fit if you value kindness, quiet, cleanliness, and fair value. They also have a villa with a private pool if you'd like more privacy.

The family running Werkudara Guesthouse made our stay especially meaningful. They welcomed us warmly and treated us like part of the family. Their kindness really touched us. They even offered to get us beers at a spicy price 😉, though the transport service may have been expensive 🤣. The guesthouse felt like a sanctuary, with traditional Balinese architecture and an open, inviting layout that let the lush surroundings flow in. We felt at home right away. The pool, framed by tropical plants, was beautiful and lovely for a quiet moment or just enjoying the scenery.

As a solo traveler, I felt completely included in the family, which meant so much to me. Sandi & Mangku were wonderful hosts and always willing to help with anything I asked. They took us to the beach for Melasti and welcomed us into the traditions, and I even had a Balinese birthday ceremony. I can't thank them enough, and feel lucky to have met them 🥰✨. I loved the rooms, the place, and the family so much that I extended my stay. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Bali again. This was the best homestay in Bali for me.

We spent four days at Werkudara Guest House as a couple. Mancu and Sendi are lovely, friendly, helpful people who were ready to meet our needs. The gardens are beautiful and clean, and there's a pool too. Scooter rental and laundry are available, and the laundry was very cheap. Ubud is about 20 minutes away by car or scooter. I'd give it more than five stars if I could. I recommend staying here and would return in the future.
