Canggu Beachside Villas

We stayed for eight nights in late September with our four-year-old. The villa was spotless each day, and we loved having drinks by the pool with our music playing through the roof speakers. Staff were polite and quick to help, whether we needed scooters booked or some last-minute cocktails. The pool and service were the standouts. The place is still in very good shape, though it’s not brand new, and the location worked well. With a little one, I’d recommend getting a scooter, since walking may be tricky; adults should be fine on foot. We’ll be back, though we were sorry to head home.

The pools at Villa Vida and Boa are lovely, and the villas are comfortable. Staff are always checking in to see how they can help. The chef offers a broad menu of local and international dishes. Traffic is typical for Bali, so leave extra time for the drive.

We were at Villa Gu in Canggu for a production, so I can’t really comment on a full overnight stay. The rooftop on the third floor is a nice spot to get away from everyone for a bit. Inside, the living room felt huge, much bigger than you’d expect from the outside, and the bedrooms and bathrooms looked like lovely places to wake up before heading into the private pool. The staff were accommodating and very well groomed. The location is convenient, with Cafe Del Mar just around the corner, a new Bali pool bar.

It took some help to find our villa. We first drove to the wrong location, and once we arrived it wasn’t obvious which one was ours, but the friendly staff showed us where to go. Inside, Villa Boa was clean and comfortable, with the amenities we needed. The owner was friendly, and the curated paintings gave the beautiful place some character.
