Whatever the price, I still expect a hotel or villa to meet a basic standard. This place seems like it was great in its prime, but now it feels like only remnants of that are left. A lot of things don’t work properly, the paint is peeling, the tubs show plenty of use, some cups and glasses do too, and parts of the wooden floor are broken. I hope the owners start maintaining the property and renovate or upgrade it.

The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and there are plenty of nice places to eat nearby. It’s affordable too. But the place feels dated and seems to be chronically short staffed. On arrival I waited about 10 minutes with nobody at reception. When I checked out during a huge storm, the umbrella in my room was broken, and nobody answered my calls to reception for around 10 minutes when I asked if someone could bring one.

The room, the attendants, and the cleanliness of the area were awesome. The pool was nice too, and it was quiet, with birds and no critters. Gede at the front desk was friendly when I arrived. I was the only guest for the first 24 hours, which made it confusing that they couldn’t pick me up as arranged. After my 22-hour flight from Seattle, I called to say I was ready, then had to negotiate a taxi fare of 250k IDR instead. There are so many places to stay, so if you plan to return, keep notes of places and areas on your phone. Enjoy. Peace.

Everything else was good: the room was comfortable, the air con was decent, the pool was good, breakfast was tasty, and the area was quiet. Room service came daily, and the staff were polite and helpful. The shower could use some simple beading, since water spilled onto the bedroom floor. Also, there was no footpath to the convenience store, so I had to walk along a busy road.
