I booked seven nights but left after only two. I have spent 20 years visiting Bali and stayed in hundreds of villas and guesthouses, and this was the worst experience by far. I felt so unwelcome that I wish I could give it zero stars. The daytime housekeeper showed me to an upstairs room and opened with, “You break anything, then you pay for it.” The air conditioning was weak and pointed away from the bed, so I politely asked to move downstairs to a room where it faced the bed. He agreed reluctantly, then warned me I couldn’t move rooms again. I had only asked once, because the air conditioning wasn’t working properly. I also had to ask for a pool towel. He asked what I wanted it for, and when I said the pool, he stormed off and tossed me an old brown one that looked nothing like the white and blue towels other guests had. There was seating outside my room, but whenever I sat there he gave me a cold look as he passed. He treated me like a naughty teenager, though I’m in my forties. You need to get a new housekeeper.

The staff were amazing, and the location was good. My room was excellent too, with a comfortable bed and working air conditioning and internet. Nothing gave me any trouble.

The pool and garden were a lovely extra, and the beach and good cafes are only a short walk away. At Indah Homestay Batu Belig, I also found the rooms clean and comfortable, with warm, attentive service. I loved staying here and highly recommend it.

Ketut was a wonderful host, always friendly and ready to help with whatever we needed. We had a tidy, pleasant room overlooking the shared pool, and the mini fridge and water cooler were handy extras. The place is peaceful and beautiful, tucked between Seminyak and Canguu. It felt like a little bit of paradise, and we’ll definitely return.

I spent two fabulous months here and got to try two different rooms. The little dog Bruno lives on the property, and Ketut, the housekeeper, was kind, friendly, and always happy to help. Both rooms were clean, well air-conditioned, and had really comfortable beds. There’s good closet space with hangers and shelves, plus a small safe, hot water, a fridge with a mini freezer, and a water cooler. Depending on your room, you’ll have a small balcony or patio. The pool is a good size and well kept, and there’s plenty of parking for bikes, though a car might be a tight fit. Cleaning is twice a week, with linens changed on one of those days. Wifi varies by room, but works great by the pool. I’d highly recommend staying here.
