Kubal Guest House

The four-bedroom Villa gave our family plenty of space, and everyone loved having a private pool. Staff looked after us throughout and gave great service. The beach is right next door, and Eat Street is about 10 minutes away by taxi, so there are lots of options if you want to go out. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kubal Villa.

The guest house at the back was perfectly fine, and the rates were more than reasonable. It was mostly quiet, the staff were really nice, and the AC was cold. I stayed for a week, and the bed was comfortable. The linens could use an update, though: my towels had holes and stains, and the sheets weren’t pristine. Not a five-star experience, but it could be a good place for a longer stay.

The location is great, but old villa number 3 needs updates urgently. It looked nothing like the photos. At $80 a night, I’d at least expect a clean place and basic amenities in good condition. There were Sampurna cigarette butts everywhere, presumably left by the previous renter, which housekeeping could have cleared away. The room was full of mosquitoes, so we had to buy repellent before using it, and the towels tore when we used them. This place needs work soon.

The staff were amazingly helpful. When our flight was delayed, they let us stay longer. Breakfast was really tasty, with traditional or Western choices, and it arrived promptly at the time I requested. The place was clean, nicely presented, and cleaned daily with fresh towels. I had a relaxing stay and would come back. Bring mosquito protection at night. There were a lot of them, and repellent and a burning stick helped, but you’ll need them.
