Paragon Seminyak Hotel

The traffic is the main drawback. If you stay in Seminyak and plan to explore other parts of Bali, expect to spend 1-2 hours in traffic. Many tourists, me included, stay in Canggu or Seminyak, so roads can get really congested. The hotel itself was comfortable and pleasant. Staff were welcoming, and they offer a welcome drink at check-in. It felt safe, with nothing creepy going on, and there’s 24/7 security. Housekeeping cleaned daily unless we put up the DND sign, and they always replenished towels and toiletries. Breakfast was good, and the pool was well maintained and enjoyable.

The location is good, close to beaches, beach clubs and good food. I wish they had firm pillows too. Even stacking two pillows, I woke up with a stiff neck every morning.

The bathroom was filthy, the sheets stained, and the floor dirty. I can’t believe this is supposed to be a 4 Star hotel. If you’re looking for a good stay in Seminyak, don’t book here. We arrived late at night as four families, 11 people altogether, but the staff gave us only two rooms instead of the four we’d booked. They were family rooms, each with one big room and a small connecting room, so all four families spent the full night in those two rooms. At breakfast the next day, staff said complimentary breakfast was only for eight people. After a lot of arguing, we discovered they’d made a mistake assigning the rooms. The manager was rude and kept saying it was our fault for missing check-in and not giving documents for two room assignments, even though all 11 of us were right in front of the staff at check-in. The staff were clearly incompetent.

I left after one night, even though my booking was for two. The room was a letdown, with a terrible pillow and an old, dirty bathroom. The photos can speak for themselves. I tried calling the front office about the problems, but the phone didn’t work, so I went downstairs. The helpful male receptionist promptly arranged for new pillows to be brought up, and I’m adding an extra star for him. Thank you, sir. When I arrived around 11 am, the female receptionist was cold and not very welcoming. The male staff member at reception was much more hospitable when I came back late at night. I checked out first thing the next morning without a second thought. This was my first and last stay here.
