The Z ReZidence

The pools were well kept and inviting, and since they’re shallow they’re good for kids. The guarded entrance makes the large compound feel secure, and the villa layout works well for big groups. Some villas have cooking areas, Wi-Fi is available, and the residential setting is fairly quiet. My stay was a mixed bag. The owner was hands-on when the sink clogged as I arrived and tried to fix it straight away, but some facilities need maintenance. The air conditioners in all the villas take a long time to cool the rooms. They eventually get cool in the early morning, but in Bali’s humid weather it’s hard to be comfortable on a hot day. Hot water came and went, so I kept adjusting the shower lever. The food wasn’t good, though it was inexpensive. The compound is down a narrow side road and wasn’t easy to find. Also, if you’re thinking of having a party, keep the noise down and wrap up by bedtime so the neighbors can sleep. Even with the hot water and air conditioning problems, I enjoyed my stay at Z. I think the owner could sort those issues out quickly and help guests have a pleasant visit. Cheers.

The staff were nice, though the food was average. It’s a nice, quiet place, but there were too many mosquitoes for my liking. We asked for more towels every day and still never got more than one for me and my partner to share. There was a serious shortage.

Bali is amazing, but places like this bring it shame. This was my worst experience ever: unhygienic, full of insects, and the air conditioning didn’t work. The owner had the worst attitude and was a rip-off. I strongly recommend that you don’t even consider booking here.

There’s a nice rice field outside, and the famous restaurant Nook is nearby.
