We came for a long-awaited family trip over New Year, but the villa looked nothing like the photos in terms of upkeep. There were rats in the kitchen, a leaking roof that caused several guests to slip and fall, loose and dangerous tiles along the walkway between the kitchen and living area, grime throughout, and an unhygienic water dispenser. I raised all this with the Airbnb “professional host,” Maxime. She said she’d send someone to fix things, but nobody came during our stay. First she offered one free night for the inconvenience, then 25% off after I said that didn’t seem fair. She also assured me the villa would be taken off the market once we left, but it was still available afterward at half the price for the same length of stay. We paid £1400+ for 9 nights. I reported it to Airbnb, and she says I’m trying to get a free stay. I’ll add photos so you can judge for yourself. Avoid this villa and Maxime.
