What a relief it was to reach Volcano Cabin Batur after that long, scary trip. My friend and I took a route with lots of steep climbs and drops. It was raining, our bike’s brake failed, and we ended up walking it along. People passing by asked what was wrong and some offered help, but we decided to keep going. After about 1 km of pushing the bike, the brake worked again 🥺 The cabin lights were so pretty that they helped us forget our near-death experience 😂 There’s a little warung or shop selling snacks and instant noodles. It stays open until midnight, or maybe 24 hours. The woman working there was really friendly; I ordered coffee and she brought it to my cabin. It was only 10k each. They provide a bed, pillows, and towels, but the bathrooms are shared, so bring your own toiletries. I shut the door before bed and was still freezing, even though I’m used to Denpasar’s hot weather 😂 The morning view was incredibly beautiful, with the cabins facing the mountain and the foggy slopes in sight. Perfect morning 😍

The view was amazing, but getting into the hotel was a struggle. Nobody was there when we arrived, and there was no contact number to call. We had to look around and ask at a nearby store before we found the person in charge. The hot water couldn’t be adjusted, so it was too hot for us to shower. In our friend’s room, the heater wouldn’t turn on at all, leaving them with freezing water. There was no soap in the dispenser, although the hotel photos made us think there would be. The bed was dusty too, and there were less than three teaspoons of coffee left :/.

The owner was very friendly, greetings to them 👍👍👍 The hotel has a cool feel, set on the caldera near Mount Batur. Coffee and sugar are in the room if you want to brew your own. You can also order boiled or fried noodles and eggs from the woman there. Orders can be placed through WhatsApp using the number listed on this page.

A clean place with a cool, fairly quiet atmosphere, comfortable enough rooms, and an affordable price. The views are truly beautiful. One note: don’t use Maps Routes if your vehicle isn’t fit for the route. Thank you!
